Kay Honeycutt Draughn

First of all, words cannot do justice to the dedicating Kay demonstrates to our County each and every day, but I will attempt to highlight a few reasons she is so deserving of this recognition. She serves our County Commissioners, providing information to them, capturing the meetings through minutes, and helping to keep them in compliance and on track during meetings. In addition, she has taken on supporting our County's Animal Shelter, helping develop a non-profit foundation that helps provide financial support to the shelter as well as raising funds and awareness for building a new animal shelter. She volunteers at the shelter, provides direction for the foundation by serving as the president, and helps develop and coordinate public awareness events. She was also instrumental in the complete overhaul of our County's Animal Welfare Ordinance, which was approved by the County Commissioners. She is a team within herself - demonstrating initiative, enthusiasm with her "can do" attitude. Without Kay, I doubt any of this would have been accomplished and when our County builds the new shelter, it will be because of Kay's persistence and commitment.
