Jessica Blair Blair

Over the last eight years with the City of Half Moon Bay, Jessica has elevated the organization’s administrative processes, customer service, and overall professionalism. Jessica has proven time after time her commitment to the City Clerk profession, as well as all areas of local government and public service. More recently, Jessica’s special talents and leadership were on full display as the City navigated several weeks of emergencies related to winter storms and flooding, immediately followed by the terrible mass-shooting incident on January 23rd, that rocked our community to its core. We were well prepared to respond to more traditional disasters but found ourselves in unfamiliar and unprecedented territory as we faced the challenge of responding to and recovering from a tragedy that changed our perspective on the world and opened our eyes to other injustices happening in the community. With grace, Jessica managed the tsunami of media that descended on our small city, as well as the elected officials and advocate groups that brought a new spotlight to community issues we had never faced in the past. At the same time, she oversaw events that brought our residents together to process, mourn, and begin to heal from the trauma we were experiencing. All of this took place within only a few weeks’ time, but Jessica was able to calmly lead while not missing a beat on the other important work that her role requires each and every day.
